S & N Civil - Ravensthorpe Nickel Mine

Quality concrete sawing & drilling were contacted by S & N Civil toward the end of 2010 and requested to provide a cost to remove two large section of concrete from the roof of the rejects tunnel at the Ravensthorpe Nickel Mine. The requirement was to cut out the concrete sections & once the two large concrete sections were removed, we were required to cut a 30 degree chamfer to the remaining edge. The reason S&N Civil made contact with Quality Concrete Sawing & Drilling was because they required a Perth based Concrete Cutting Company who could get the job done fast, efficiently and with no down time.

After reviewing the plans we had two options, wire sawing or wall sawing. The concrete cutting depth required was 0.8 meters with a chamfer of 30 degree cut into the remaining edge. After discussing with our very experienced concrete cutting team, we came to the option of Wall Sawing, because with some new engineering ideas, we were able to cut on a 30 degree angle with the wall saw.

Our in house mechanic designed some adjustment plates for the base of the wall saw feet, discussed with our engineer & a new applications for the wall saw was born.

As requested from the beginning, the concrete cutting & removal was finish well in side the time frame allowed. Once again Quality Concrete Sawing & Drilling and their commitment, planning & great team of very experienced operators proved that they are the Concrete Cutting Company of Choice in Perth & Western Australia.

Client - Water Corporation Project - Samson Brook Dam

Quality concrete Sawing & Drilling were successful in tendering on the concrete cutting required at the Samson Brook Dam for the Water Corporation. Situated approximately 2 hours south of the Perth CBD.

The extent of the work included both the use of our wall saw & wire saw.

The wall saw was required to remove thick concrete walls at the up stream area of the dam to allow for access to the pipes running through the dam.

The wire saw was needed at the down stream area of the dam to cut around a very large section of concrete, which encased two steel pipes.

Once again the concrete sawing was all completed within the required time, while still maintaining consistency in Quality, safety & performance.
